To get to twenty-five incoming players college coaches will evaluate more than a thousand prospects before a class arrives on campus. Some will never get past the initial video evaluation; others will fall by the wayside at a prospect camp. By the time the season starts the coaches might still have five hundred prospects that they will evaluate in person - or through game film. All of this goes on during the season.
