Memphis Whips UAB, 79-45

Make that 12 straight losses to Memphis. The Memphis Tigers spanked UAB with a 79-45 win that barely caused them to break a sweat. Will Barton and Chris Crawford scored 16 points each to lead the Tigers offense, but their defense made the difference.

The Blazers' offensive leaders for most games - Cameron Moore and Jordan Swing - were limited to one basket between them by the Tigers defense.

Preston Purifoy led the Blazers with 14 points. Quincy Taylor added 12.

UAB dropped to 10-14 overall and 5-6 in conference play. Memphis held on to its tie for first place in the Conference USA with an 8-2 conference record and 19-7 overall.

The Blazers next travel to SMU for a road game Saturday. They return to Bartow Arena next Wednesday night to host Tulane.
