Marshall Blows Past UAB, 63-14
The Thundering Herd of Marshall passed and ran for more than 600 total yards in offense and defeated UAB 63-14 Saturday afternoon.
After falling behind 14-0 in the first quarter, UAB scored on a four-yard run by Darrin Reaves in the second quarter to cut the score to 14-7. But that was the last time the game was competitive.

Marshall ran off 42 unanswered points to build up a 56-7 lead. Jonathan Perry ran the ball in from three yards out with 9:32 remaining in the game for their only others touchdown of the day.
UAB managed 144 yards rushing, with Jordan Howard (53 yards) and Reaves (51 yards) getting most of the duty. Perry completed 16 of 34 passes for 210 yards and two interceptions.
Marshall had two runners with more than 100 yards on the ground. Breon Allen led the Herd with 143 yards, while Vritvus Cooper added 126.
Shane Carden completed 20 of 30 passes for 296 yards and five touchdowns. Reese Wiggins was his leading receiver, grabbing five receptions for 142 yards and three touchdowns.
UAB returns to Legion Field for its next game. It will play host to C-USA foe Rice Thursday night.
