Practices winding down as Blazers prepare for spring game
The UAB football team returned to the practice field on Wednesday for its 10th session of spring drills.
With the conclusion of Wednesday's work, the Blazers have just five practice days remaining, including the 2013 Spring Game, which will take place on April 27 at the West Campus Field. Kickoff for the annual event is set for 11 a.m. CT.

Following Wednesday's drills, head coach Garrick McGee met with media members and discussed several topics, including his defensive secondary, his quarterbacks and how his team has performed so far in the spring.
"I like where we are at as a team," McGee said. "We are still working hard and concentrating on getting better. We did a couple of situations today and have worked on some things that will help prepare us for the fall."
One bright spot McGee has seen this spring has been the play of his quarterbacks. The second-year head coach says he likes the way Austin Brown, Jonathan Perry, Jeremiah Briscoe and Mike Miller are all playing at this point in spring drills.
"I think they have learned a lot," McGee added. "I think the game has slowed down for them a little and they all just need to finish strong as we go into next week."
The Blazers will hold two more practices this week, culminating in Saturday's scrimmage.
