UAB fires basketball coach Mike Davis
UAB has fired basketball coach Mike Davis with one year remaining on his contract.
ESPN.com reported that Davis himself confirmed the firing and said he was told he was fired because of poor ticket sales and attendance.
Davis led the Blazers to three NIT tournaments, one Conference USA regular season title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament First Four round last season. The Blazers were 15-16 this season and 9-7 in C-USA.
