Last season Thomasville fell to Guntersville 28-27 in the state championship game played at Legion Field. Watters and company set a goal to return to Legion Field and leave as winners this season. They have been quite impressive thus far defeating Beaugegard 38-17 in the first round and then rolling over Fayette County 58-34 in the second round. Last weekend they disposed of Handley 49-12.
The Watters brothers are leaders of one of the toughest defenses in Class 4A. A win for the Tigers Friday night would bring them back to Legion Field to face the winner of the Deshler – Brooks semi-final game.
Other UAB commitments are still playing deep into their state's playoffs as well.
Chase Daniels, a 6-2 200 lb. defensive back from Hoover led his team with seven tackles and a fumble recovery against Hueytown in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs. Daniel's Hoover team was eliminated last Friday night by Vestavia.

Hicks, a 5-9, 161-pound running back is also a four year starter on the Lovett basketball team that made it to the Georgia Dome in last year's state basketball semi-finals. Hennigan, a 6-5 250-pound defensive end is also a power hitter on Lovett's outstanding baseball team.
